Storm Rising (A Kelli Storm Novel 1) Available Now

Pleased to announce that book 1 in the Kelli Storm series, Storm Rising, is once again available. As some of you may know, I had published before with Three Worlds Press. Unfortunately, they went out of business and it took some time to find and work out a deal with a new publisher. I am now with Fountain Blue Publishing, and looking forward to a long and successful relationship with them. They have contracted the full series and book 2 is in the pipeline ready to be assigned to an editor.

You can get your copy of Storm Rising, in eBook or paperback. It is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes and Kobo, in eBook format. The paperback can be purchased through Amazon for $13.99, and the eBook version is $4.99. Get your copy today.

Detective Second Grade Kelli Storm joined the NYPD to follow in her father's footsteps and to hopefully solve his murder. With her mother in the final stages of Alzheimer's and an ex-husband she still loves, things get complicated. When she kills the daughter of a retired drug kingpin, it really hits the fan.

When a murder investigation turns Detective Kelli Storm’s attention to a drug kingpin, the last thing she expected was to find a link to her father’s killer from twenty years earlier. The Washington Height's neighborhood has turned deadly for NYPD detectives Kelli Storm and Bill Hayes. A young woman is murdered and Kelli tracks the killer to a Gentleman’s Club in Manhattan. After an unwilling witness is assaulted and left dying, Kelli and Bill turn their investigation in a new and more dangerous direction. When the DEA steps in and takes over, Kelli is forced off the case. Working behind the scenes, she pulls out one of her father’s old case files and starts making connections she never would have dreamed possible. An old gun, new witnesses and danger lurking in the shadows have storms rising all over New York City.

***** Review: This is the first in a series and is a page-turner, breath-taker from start to finish. It's gritty and smart and has well rounded, engaging characters. This is definitely a series to watch!

***** Review: STORM RISING is a suspenseful page-turner. Couldn't put it down until read entirely! Many twists and turns. The main character, Kelli Storm, is an aggressive and assertive female detective who bends the rules to seek justice. In doing so, the reader doesn't know what's coming!

Hailey's Angels - Fundraising for Hailey

I don't usually post things like this on my blog, though I probably should do it more often. I only do it now as I believe it to be a good and worth cause. Little Hailey was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer October of last year when she was admitted into the hospital and they found a tumor pressing against her intestines, bladder, and kidneys. Her parents need all the help they can get to pay for and support themselves and little Hailey.

Follow the link to find out more and how you can help this deserving family.

Self-publishing again

Well, after just short of a year since I signed with Three Worlds Press, they are closing shop. I'm once again without a publisher. Not to be deterred, I am working on reformatting all four Kelli Storm books for both .mobi and ePub formats. The current plan is to sell direct from my website, and take payments via PayPal. Of course this will limit exposure to the market, so any help in spreading the word would be appreciated. Iw currently have Storm Rising (A Kelli Storm Novel 1) available in both .mobi and ePub formats for $2.99. Visit my site for details.

I am still working on "The Riverwalk Murders", and my cover artist, Patti Roberts at Paradox Book Cover Designs has forwarded me three new covers to choose from, which is not easy as they are all good. I am leaning toward the first one, though #3 is interesting. (See below) Let me know which one you like.

What Christmas means to me

A holiday classic, A Christmas Story, reminds me of how my family and I celebrated Christmas, except for the pink bunny suit that poor Ralphie had to put on that morning. Well, and the dogs getting the turkey. Christmas growing up was always an anxious time for me, mostly because I never knew from one year to the next where we would be living, or if Santa would stop at our house. They were thin times, but my dad always managed somehow to get us something for Christmas.

So what does Christmas mean to me? It's not about the presents, though most think it is. Christmas to me is being with friends and family, giving, not taking. My last few Christmas' have been different, especially since I've been single. When I was married and had my kids and grandchildren, it was a special time. Watching them tear off the wrapping paper and the look in their eyes once the gift was unwrapped. Seeing the joy in their eyes gave me joy too. I miss that. But just because I no longer have that in my life doesn't mean I can't enjoy Christmas. I still have friends and family, and most importantly, I still have my health.

A Merry Christmas to you and yours, and wishing you a joyous New Year.
